1. Ego resistance
Close to 99% of suffering is caused by ego resistance. This is when the ego's external conditioning, limiting beliefs, false perceptions and separatist ideas stand in conflict with the movement of life-stream, which is rooted in wholeness and totality. The stronger the force of ego's resistance, the more acute this conflict is and the more we suffer.
Ego resistance is usually triggered by negative emotions such as anxiety, fear and anger. These emotions are signs that you're identifying with the ego and not your true Self. If you can learn to identify and consciously release the force of these emotions, you'll be able to let go of your ego resistance and begin to experience life more fully.
There are many different ways to release ego resistance, but one of the most effective is by using the ACIM technique of "release/resistance" breathing. This is when you inhale deeply and mentally say to yourself "release", and as you exhale, you say to yourself "resistance". Doing this for 1-3 minutes three or four times a day will help to release any resistance you have.
Another way to release ego resistance is by practicing self-compassion. The ego resists change because it fears it will lose its control and become vulnerable. However, if you can practice being compassionate toward yourself and embracing the hurt and fearful part of yourself, then the ego will have no choice but to surrender.
Lastly, you can use the acim text's "relationship healing exercises" to overcome ego resistance. These are designed to help you develop a healthy relationship with the Holy Spirit, which will then be able to bring up all your ego dirt for healing. This process will take a lot of patience and persistence, but it's well worth the effort in the long run.
As you learn to progressively release the force of your ego's resistance, you will begin to experience more joy and peace in your daily life. However, if you're not careful, your ego will start to resist these positive changes as well. It will try to stop you from pursuing these changes by using its old tricks of self-deception and denial. So if you're having trouble making progress, it may be time to examine your ego resistance again and find new strategies for releasing it.
2. Fear of letting go
The fear of letting go can be one of the most difficult aspects of acim depression. It is important to recognize and address this fear before moving forward with your healing. Letting go means freeing yourself from aspects of your past that have become a part of who you are today. It can be difficult to let go of these things, but doing so can help you move on from past hurts and create a healthier future.
A fear of letting go can lead to self-sabotaging behaviors that can prevent you from achieving your goals and happiness. It can also cause you to blame others for your problems and avoid recognizing your own faults. It can also cause you to overreact when you feel slighted or mistreated. It can also keep you from forming healthy romantic relationships.
If you struggle with a fear of letting go, it may be time to seek professional help. A therapist can teach you techniques for overcoming this obstacle and support you in your journey. They can also work with you to develop a plan for letting go that is realistic for your situation and goals.
It is also important to practice coping strategies to help manage your emotional pain while you are learning how to let go. This can include maintaining a support network, practicing gratitude, and focusing on personal growth. You can also try meditation, yoga, and journaling to help you deal with your emotions.
The spiritual practice of letting go can be helpful in eliminating fears that hold you back from living your life to its fullest potential. This is an essential step in releasing anxiety and finding lasting peace.
One of the most effective ways to let go is to focus on the present moment. Try to remember that your struggles are not permanent, and that every situation has a purpose. For example, a bad day may be a reminder that you are not alone, and that a dead end is sometimes just a detour on your path to happiness. You can also remind yourself that a loss is not necessarily a setback, and that every disappointment can be a lesson.
3. Fear of being alone
Fear of being alone is a sign of acim depression that can be difficult to overcome. It can prevent you from enjoying your independence and having a full life. It can also cause you to over-protect yourself and not trust others. The fear of being alone can be a result of trauma, a lack of self-confidence, and other mental health issues. The best way to combat the fear of being alone is to practice mindfulness and learn to enjoy your time alone. This can help you to build a stronger sense of self and gain a deeper understanding of your emotions. It can also improve your relationships with other people.
A fear of being alone can be a symptom of many different conditions, including agoraphobia, panic disorder, or PTSD. It can also be caused by a history of drug or alcohol dependence. If you’re experiencing these symptoms, it’s important to seek professional help from a therapist. They can help you understand why you have this fear and provide the tools you need to overcome it.
Those who have the fear of being alone attend social events to meet new people. They don’t have a realistic view of interpersonal relationships and want to establish an affective bond with anyone. This leads to them privileging any person over the appropriate one.
This can have serious implications in their relationships because they are not able to judge whether someone is a good match for them or not. Those who have the fear of being alone can’t be honest with their partners and are likely to keep secrets. They may even use their fear of being alone to manipulate other people.
People who have the fear of being alone do not value family bonds. They believe that family members are only close to them because of blood ties and not because they love them. The truth is that family relationships can be very meaningful and deep. People who have this fear of being alone can’t see that family love goes beyond blood ties. They can’t recognize this because they think that they are not able to be loved unconditionally by their families.
4. Fear of being judged
The fear of being judged can be a sign that you have acim depression. People with this condition find it hard to trust others, especially in social or performance situations. This can lead to isolation, as they don’t want to interact with anyone for fear of being judged. They might also have a rigid body posture, speak softly, or avoid eye contact. The good news is that you can overcome this phobia by working on your self-esteem and confidence levels.
One way to do this is by realising that most people aren’t judgmental. You can also learn to be indifferent to what other people think of you. It is a skill that takes time and conscious practice, but once you master it, your fears of being judged will fade away. The first step is to get to know yourself and pinpoint the aspects of your personality that can be judged. Once you do that, you can start focusing on the things about yourself that are acceptable.
Another way to reduce your fear of being judged is by practicing mindfulness. This will help you to recognise the judgemental thoughts that come into your mind and then challenge them. It is important to understand that other people’s judgment of you isn’t a reflection of your personality, but rather their own insecurities.
Often, people who are afraid of being judged tend to overthink their actions and assume that other people will think negatively of them. This is because their low self-esteem makes them assume that everyone will reject them and hate them. This can be a vicious cycle, as the fear of negative evaluation worsens their performance and anxiety levels.
If you’re worried that you might have acim depression, it’s important to seek professional help. Therapists and hypnotherapists can help you work through your fears, build your confidence, and improve your self-esteem. They can also teach you healthy ways to manage your stress and anxiety. They may also recommend mindfulness or other forms of relaxation, such as yoga and meditation. It is also a good idea to prioritise your wellbeing, by getting enough sleep and exercising regularly, eating well, and taking time out.
